Hamilton, Ontario – Rapper Drake recently joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in an effort to build a new home.

Drake recently signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

“We’ve been working hard on our new home for a long time,” Hamilton General Manager Chris Ballard told AL.com.au on Tuesday.

“With the number of teams that have moved to Hamilton, and the fact that there are some great players here, we feel it is a good fit for our team.”

It’s a new start and we’re looking forward to it.

“While Drake is the latest celebrity to join the team, there are plenty of other celebrities who will be joining the Tiger-Cs bandwagon.

Among the celebrities who are already on the team are former NBA stars Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, and Shaquille O’Neal.

The team has also recently signed former NFL star DeMarcus Ware, NBA All-Star guard Andre Drummond, and former NFL player and current WWE superstar Dwayne Wade.

Former MLB star and current MLB Network analyst Mark Teixeira is also on the list.

The Tiger-cats, who currently hold the top spot in the East Division, play their home opener on Saturday at the BMO Field.
