Denver Nuggets forward Josh Huestis will be one of many players participating in the NBA’s pre-season tour of the United States, but he will not be in Denver.

Huestris, a three-time All-Star, will be attending the NBA All-star game in Phoenix instead.

The Nuggets will be making their preseason debut against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, Jan. 20, but Huestes will not make the trip.

The 6-foot-9 forward is currently out of the country and will not travel to Phoenix.

This marks the first time that Huestres has missed a preseason game since the team announced that he had a torn Achilles tendon in July.

He suffered the injury while running the pick-and-roll with James Harden and Devin Harris during the team’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 19.

Huestes said he has been training for the trip with his son, who was born in Mexico.

“I think it’s great, but I don’t think it will really affect me,” Huestides said, per the Denver Post.

“I’m here to work out, get stronger and get back to playing basketball.”

The Nuggets are hoping to make a run for the playoffs after finishing last in the Western Conference.

Denver was swept in the first round by the Golden State Warriors, but the team has won six of seven and has earned a playoff berth.

The Nuggets are coming off a 112-100 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday.
