New Jersey Devils rookie QB Jacoby Brissett signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent, the New York Jets announced Wednesday.

Brissett spent the last two seasons with the New England Patriots and was a three-year starter in the AFC East.

He was drafted by the Jets with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Briskett had an impressive rookie season with the Jets.

He completed 70 percent of his passes for 2,839 yards and 18 touchdowns and ran for 488 yards and eight scores.

He also had eight interceptions.

The 27-year-old Brisset has a chance to become the franchise quarterback.
